Supporting Regional Charities & Community Projects
Being involved in the community and supporting the people who live here is important to Poopsie’s. So we have committed to giving back 1% of sales to local charities and projects in the region with an emphasis on Galena, IL and Jo Daviess County.
Since 2020, your support has helped us give more than $90,000 back to organizations doing meaningful, boots-on-the-ground work right here in our community.
Each dollar represents neighbors helping neighbors — and that’s what Poopsie’s has always been about. That’s kindness in action, and we couldn’t be more proud.
For 2026, Poopsie’s is proud to partner with two deeply-rooted organizations that operate within Galena, IL and Jo Daviess County dedicated to supporting individuals and families experiencing hardship.
Friends in Need Emergency Assistance – Jo Daviess County Charity Partner
Mission Overview
Friends in Need focuses on assisting individuals and families in Jo Daviess County who find themselves going through a rough patch. Many are working for low wages and unable to save for unexpected emergencies like health concerns, accidents, abuse, or other misfortunes. Others are disabled, homeless, or struggling with mental illness. Friends in Need is part of the Society of St. Vincent de Paul – Saint Teresa of Calcutta Conference and has been serving Jo Daviess County for 7 years
What They Do
Volunteers from Friends in Need personally:
- Visit individuals and families in need
- Pray with them, listen, and offer compassionate support
- Provide assistance such as:
- Food
- Shelter
- Medicine
- Referrals to other organizations better equipped to help
How Help Happens
Friends in Need operates a continually monitored telephone helpline. Many callers reach out at the very end of their financial rope. While they may ask for something small — like gas money — home visits often reveal deeper needs such as:
- Past-due rent
- Utility shut-off notices
- Lack of basic furniture
- Overwhelming financial stress

Galena, IL Elks Club Food Basket Program
The majority of Poopsie’s giveback funds to the Elks Club will support the Food Basket Program, helping ensure families have nourishing meals during the holiday season in Galena and Jo Daviess County.

We also love that the Elks are thinking about the future and have started a youth club, The Antler Club. This club is designed to get young kids involved in volunteering early, helping them learn that giving back is just part of being part of a community.
-
- A small portion of Poopsie’s funds will help support their new Antlers Club.
